The Classic Sport 26

When you consider the beauty of the Classic Sport 26 it is easy to see our Japanese roots shine. The clean minimal frame design is not only easy on the eyes, but it combines a stiff rear triangle with a relaxed front end for a fast feeling, yet incredibly comfortable ride. The Classic Sport now comes standard with 26" wheels for the ability to choose a range of tire types and widths. Originally meant for smaller riders in Tokyo, the 26" wheel offers the advantage of quicker acceleration, easier transport on public transportation, and more convenient storage in small apartments. Equipped with a Shimano Rapid Fire shifter and 8-speeds, the Classic Sport is quick to shift and capable of climbing easy and descending quickly. Besides, the external Shimano Claris derailleur saves 2lbs of weight versus an internally geared bike. Add fenders, racks, and bottles cages to meet all your commuting needs.

*Our tokyobike front carrier & tokyobike deep front basket are compatible with the 57cm & 61cm models, we recommend a more shallow basket for the smaller sizes.

Our guide offers size suggestions based on height and standover height—a key measurement to ensure you have proper clearance between your body and the frame while standing over your bicycle. For our tokyobike Classic Sport 26, we recommend at least 1 inch of space between you and the top tube. If you don’t know how to measure your standover height click here. For further assistance, don't hesitate to email us at info@tokyobike.us.
Frame Size Rider Height Standover Height
XS - 47cm 4' 11" - 5' 5" (150 - 165cm) 29" (72cm)
S - 53cm 5' 3" - 5' 9" (160 - 175cm) 30" (76cm)
M - 57cm 5' 7" - 5' 11" (170 - 180cm) 32" (80cm)
L - 61cm 5' 11" - 6' 3" (180 - 190cm) 33" (84cm)

Please note some riders may be a little outside of these height range recommendations but prefer the feel of a larger or smaller bike. Standover height measurement is not as important as how the bike geometry feels while it is being ridden.

We offer two ways to get your new tokyobike to you:

1 - Ship to a local bicycle shop near me (Recommended)
Based on reputability, we will use your shipping address to choose a bike shop near you—when possible, we work with shops we have had success in the past and prefer the most friendly ones available. Once a shop is selected and your assembly organized, our team will notify you via email. It typically takes a bike shop 1-10 days to assemble your new tokyobike after arrival. Assembly time is dependent on the time of year and the service schedule at the particular shop. tokyobike cannot control bike shop assembly times, but we typically see speedy service from our assembly partners. Once your tokyobike is assembled, your local bike shop will contact you for pick up. Assembly fees are due at pickup and range from $75-160, depending on where you live. Be sure to save your receipt and email it to us right away at info@tokyobike.us, and we will promptly reimburse you with a $100 digital tokyobike Gift Card.

If you purchased accessories that will need professional install (racks, baskets, fenders, others), those will also be shipped to your local bike shop unless requested otherwise. Accessories or life goods that don't require professional assistance will be mailed to your shipping address.

2 - Ship to me direct (Assembly Required)

We will ship your tokyobike to you direct. Still, you will be required to organize assembly. Proof of assembly by a professional mechanic is necessary to maintain your 1-year warranty. tokyobike does not provide assembly manuals or instructions as we believe professional assembly will provide you with a safer and longer-lasting bicycle. If you organize professional assembly on your own, you still qualify for a $100 Gift Card with a copy of your receipt.

For international customers, only option 2 is available. For Pre-Orders, please defer to our Pre-Orders T&C found here.
