tokyobike x Alexander Girard
Girard Studio in collaboration with tokyobike introduces two unique color ways of a classic single speed frame. The palettes are based on woven stripe patterns created by Alexander Girard for Herman Miller in the 1960’s and translated with precision to the bicycle form. The streamlined, lightweight frame is an ideal canvas for the bold yet sophisticated hues of Girard. This classic single speed is also built to accommodate accessories like racks and fenders making this a perfect marriage of function and form.
Girard Studio is an organization created to preserve and promote the design legacy of Alexander Girard. Our collaboration with Girard Studio was part of two celebratory exhibitions during Tokyo Design week and serves as the launch of future collaborations between our brands.
The collaborative bicycles were featured in the Girard Continued show at Curators Cube and the Alexander Girard - An Uncommon Vision show at the Herman Miller Flagship store in Tokyo.
