Jobu
Jobu is dedicated to the tradition of producing high-quality sailcloth, a thick, plain-woven fabric originating from Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, during the late Edo Period. Managing the entire process from twisting thread to weaving fabric rolls, Jobu continues to use shuttle looms—largely replaced by modern machines—to craft their textiles. This slower, more meticulous process imparts a beautiful texture to the fabric, which develops a rich patina over time. The distinctive selvedge threads along the fabric’s edge are a mark of authenticity, showcasing the craftsmanship and heritage behind every piece.
