Since 1987, Kamawanu has been dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the traditional CHUSEN hand-dyeing technique, which dates back over 100 years to the Meiji Period. Using this meticulous method, Kamawanu has created more than 500 unique Tenugui patterns, each showcasing the refined textures and vibrant visual qualities that CHUSEN is known for. In addition to producing beautiful hand-dyed fabrics, Kamawanu is committed to training the next generation of craftspeople, ensuring the continuation of this time-honored art form.
