Kryptonite
If you're riding in the city, you know the brand name Kryptonite. The first U-lock was pioneered by Kryptonite back in 1971. The popularity and strength of the brand exploded after a marketing stunt where they locked a bicycle outside in New York City for 30 days and 30 nights. All parts of the bike were stripped, yet the frame remained. Since then, Kryptonite has gone on to become the most well known brand in bicycle security.
