Sori Yanagi

In 1974, Sori Yanagi introduced a comprehensive line of cutlery, marking the beginning of his celebrated kitchen product series. This collection has grown to include a variety of essential items like pots, pans, kettles, colanders, bowls, knives, utensils, and cast iron grills. Yanagi’s approach to design emphasizes simplicity and the impact of small, thoughtful ideas. Often hailed as the father of Japanese modern design, Yanagi's bent plywood Butterfly Stool is now part of the permanent collection at the New York MoMA.
