The Mono

This is the perfect tokyobike for the rider who wants the best of both worlds— it offers the simplicity of a Single Speed, with the functionality of adding fenders and racks. The 26" wheel sets this model apart from our standard Single Speed, as it provides room for a wider, more cushiony tire up to 1.5" (without fenders). Don’t be fooled by the beauty of this bicycle. The truth is, comfort, function, and simplicity are the key features of the Mono. Unlike most single speed bikes, the Mono also has the rear drop-out spacing to be to converted to a multi-speed bike with the help of your local bike shop, making it even more versatile.

Our guide offers size suggestions based on height and standover height—a key measurement to ensure you have proper clearance between your body and the frame while standing over your bicycle. For our tokyobike Mono, we recommend at least 1 inch of space between you and the top tube. If you don’t know how to measure your standover click here.
